Vertebrand has a very unique organisation structure. Modelled on the lines of international law firms, we have none of the typical rigid hierarchies. Instead, Vertebrand functions as a collective of entrepreneur-managers with a leadership structure based on respect rather than designations. Most of our senior team members are stakeholders in the organisation and work entirely on a share of revenue and profit.

This means you will have a full-fledged organisation with more than 20 full-time consulting experts with diverse experience across domains and industry sectors working for you. In fact, collectively, we have over 300 years of experience running businesses across multiple industries and locations. And all that experience will be at your service. We are not a loose congregation of freelancers, unlike many other consulting firms in the country.

Barath Rengarajan

Barath has over four decades of professional experience in India and abroad.

Barath has over four decades of professional experience in India and abroad. His more recent role was with Lucas TVS in project and corporate management involving business planning, development of marketing strategies, policy deployment, business process reengineering and brand management.

Earlier, he served as the Regional Head of Aftermarket Operations, northern region covering entire North India for Lucas Indian Service, a fully owned subsidiary company of Lucas TVS with focus on network management for sales and service, New products introduction, CRM, Supply Chain Management and Profit Centre Operations. Prior to his role, he was the Head of Information Technology at Lucas TVS and Lucas Indian Service. Earlier, he held various key positions as Industrial Engineer and Quality Systems Manager in India and in the USA.

Barath has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Madras University. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Operations Research and Industrial Management from Washington University, St. Louis, USA specialising in Optimisation Techniques.

Narayan Ramachandran

Narayan is a writer, social entrepreneur, columnist and an emerging market investor with over two decades’ experience of working in Wall Street.

Narayan is a writer, social entrepreneur, columnist and an emerging market investor with over two decades’ experience of working in Wall Street. As the former Country Head of Morgan Stanley in India, he led all the Group’s businesses. Prior to this, Narayan was lead portfolio manager of Morgan Stanley’s Global Emerging Markets and Global Asset Allocation teams, managing over $25 billion in assets from New York and Singapore.

Currently, Narayan is the Chairman of the initiative to deworm millions of school kids in India, and serves on the Board of the largest Water Foundation in India. He is also the Chairman of India’s fastest growing bank, RBL Bank. He writes a bi-weekly column called ‘A Visible Hand’ for the Mint newspaper.

Narayan has a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan. He currently holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst.

Satish Jamdar

Satish Jamdar, with a vast experience of 43 years, has held leadership positions in several organisations.

Satish Jamdar, with a vast experience of 43 years, has held leadership positions in several organisations. He was an Executive Director on the Board of Blue Star for 13 years and retired from the company as Managing Director in March and as Special Advisor in May 2016. Currently, he is on the Board of Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd as an Independent Director.

During his overall 20 years with Blue Star, Satish was instrumental in setting up an enhanced Product Development, AC&R Technology and Manufacturing footprint for the company. This also included design, manufacture and servicing of products for OEM Customers for the Middle East and European markets. He helped grow the Customer Service business with a host of new offerings. He also helped set up a strong global supply chain, including procurement from China and strategic technology partnerships with global suppliers.

Prior to this, he was with Siemens, Voltas, GEC Alstom, and BPL Sanyo. During his long corporate career, he oversaw a wide range of activities related to Manufacturing, Product Development, Supply Chain, Product Service, EPC contracts, International Business operations, HR, Finance, Corporate Governance and General Management.

Satish Jamdar had been actively involved with CII (India’s largest corporate body) as Chairman of CII Maharashtra State Council and Western Region Sub-Committees for Inclusive Of Growth and Ease Of Doing Business. He was a member of the CII National Manufacturing Council, as well. He is currently associated with a few start-ups as an investor, chief mentor and business advisor.

He did his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Mumbai and Management Studies from USA & UK. He also studied Systems Management from NIIT Kolkata.

Bijou Kurien

Bijou is an independent consultant and a member of the Strategic Advisory Board of L Capital, Asia (a part of the LVMH Group)

Bijou is an independent consultant and a member of the Strategic Advisory Board of L Capital, Asia (a part of the LVMH Group), an independent director on several listed and unlisted companies, an advisor to select consumer product companies and a mentor to a few start-ups.

He has worked for several marquee brands in FMCG (Hindustan Lever), Consumer Durables (Titan Industries) and Retail (Reliance) and contributed immensely in their growth and expansion for over 32 years. A member of the World Retail Congress Advisory board, he is also part of the Grand Jury for selection of the World Retail award winners. He mentors FICCI National Retail Committee and is on the Governing boards of various academic institutions. He has been awarded Retail CEO of the Year 2013 by ET Now and Asia Pacific Retail Leader of the Year 2012 by the World Retail Congress.

Bijou has a PG Diploma in Business Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur.

Dr.Chandran Gnanamuthu

Dr. Gnanamuthu established and headed one of India's best neurological services at Christian Medical College, Vellore.

Dr. Gnanamuthu established and headed one of India's best neurological services at Christian Medical College, Vellore. He has over 40 years of extensive experience in medical education, clinical research and healthcare delivery. He has over 70 publications in peer reviewed journals and paper presentations in conferences both national & international. He is one of India's most eminent clinical neurologists. His research interests are in neurological infections and nervous system inflammation, particularly para-infectious syndromes and tracing the link between genetic and epi-genetic factors and their association with immunological and inflammatory mediators leading to the development of neurological disorders. He is an expert in the management of Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, stroke, dizziness/vertigo, balance disorders, neck/back pain, spinal cord diseases, weakness/paralytic diseases, multiple sclerosis and peripheral neuropathy and many more.
He has over four decades of experience in Neurology and Clinical Medicine.
He specializes in building teams to provide Advanced Specialized Medical Care to patients.

Ram Yeleswarapu

Ram has more than 20 years of Pharmaceutical and CRO industry experience, stretching across R&D and commercial operations.

As an avid entrepreneur with a passion for building teams while driving strategy and enabling growth, Ram co-founded Navitas Life Sciences and led the enterprise as the President & CEO for the last 15+ years. He was instrumental in devising a multi-tiered, global organization that helped many innovative biopharmaceutical companies streamline core functional processes while extending a range of technology solutions and operational services. Coupling organic growth with strategic M&A, he led the business strategy for Navitas and operationally built and managed global teams. Ram also developed partnerships to support clinical drug development and post-approval support services for Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, and Medical Device companies.

P.Ramababu

Ramababu is the former Managing Director of EID Parry (I) Ltd, Vice Chairman & MD of Gokaldas Exports Ltd and Chief Mentor of Rajshree Sugars Limited.

Ramababu is the former Managing Director of EID Parry (I) Ltd, Vice Chairman & MD of Gokaldas Exports Ltd and Chief Mentor of Rajshree Sugars Limited. He is a highly-trained human-resources and industrial-relations professional who evolved into a multifaceted leader.
He has four and half decades of experience in various Industries. However, he is an acknowledged expert in the area of sugar and its by-products having spent two decades there. Over the past ten years he has worked with several consulting companies, advising on issues of strategy, organizational change and transformation and the turnaround of companies.
He is the only professional to become the President of ISMA (Indian Sugar Mills Association) in the year 2006–07 and was instrumental in bringing about major reforms in the industry and earned the respect of its members and the Government of India. During his stint, he facilitated a report along with KPMG on “Vision 2017: The Sector Road Map 2017” for the Indian Sugar Industry. He is now a permanent member of the association.
Ramababu was Co-Chairman of the CII National Task Force on Sugar in 2012-13 and a Member of the CII National Council on Agriculture from 2015. A recipient of Life Time achievement award from National Institute of Personnel Management Southern Indian and the Sugar Technology Association of India, he continues to be an energetic and voracious speaker in India and international forums.
He is also a life time member of various organizations like ISMA, NIPM, ISTD, SUMEDAS, and STAI.
A firm believer that people are key for any organizational transformation. His ideas are practical and insightful that have helped individuals, leaders, and organizations.
Currently, he serves on the Boards of Indian Sugar Exim Corporation, & Fertis India Pvt Ltd. Co-founder & Director at Lakshya Strategic Consultants & Sadhana Agritech Services. In the past, he was on the Boards of CMS Info Systems Ltd and Bunge India Pvt Ltd.
He holds a Post Graduate degree in Social Work from Andhra University, and graduated from the Executive Management Program from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA, 1993.

In his professional tenure, Sanjay has handled multiple clients and industries, led new business pitches and built strategic priorities for clients like Incredible India, Sprite, KFC, Maruti, Honda, Hindustan Times, Mint, Vodafone, Dabur, Pernod-Ricard, Mondelez etc. He can be found featured in Campaign Media’s “A” List of media professionals. One of Sanjay’s key milestones was driving the creative agenda for Ogilvy Delhi, taking the office to great heights and being recognized as one of the leading creative offices in Ogilvy Worldwide.

He did an MBA in Marketing and Finance from IIM Lucknow.

Arvind Singhal

Arvind is Chairman and Managing Director of Technopak. He started his career as a Management Trainee with the DCM Group

He started his career as a Management Trainee with the DCM Group in 1979 and then worked with DCM Data Products, VXL India Ltd. and Modern Suitings before founding Technopak in 1992. Technopak is one of India's leading management consulting firms focusing on the Retail, Consumer Products & E-tailing, Fashion - Textiles & Apparel, Food Services & Agriculture, and Education sectors.
Arvind is an active member of various professional associations and industry forums, and is also a regular contributor to various national and international publications. He has previously contributed a fortnightly column for the Business Standard and a monthly column for the Economic Times. He regularly addresses Indian and international conferences and has given guest lectures at leading educational and other institutions in India and abroad, including Harvard Business School (USA), Wharton (USA), ESADE (Barcelona), various IIMs and IITs, etc., and the Vatican (Italy).
Arvind's personal social-sector interests are in the areas relating to Education, Healthcare, and Agriculture. He is an alumnus of UCLA, USA (MBA) and IIT-Roorkee (Engineering).

Kiran V. Ranga

Kiran V. Ranga is the founder and Managing Director of Ripple Fragrances Pvt Ltd; the spatial fragrance initiative of the Mysore based NR Group.

Kiran a creative perfumer is also the director of NESSO (Natural and Essential Oils), a group subsidiary which manufactures natural extracts for fragrances, Cosmeceuticals and Nutraceuticals
He graduated from the University of Plymouth, UK, with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Perfumery. This course offers a unique combination of perfumery science and business management electives and is accredited by IFEAT (International Federation of Essential Oils and Aroma Trades). In 2002 he completed an MBA from Case Western Reserve University, USA. Kiran has blended his creative and leadership skills to position Ripple as a as a pioneer in the home fragrance domain in India. He has the vision of transforming Ripple into a Global Leader in the Home fragrance Market.. Kiran’s expertise in fragrance creation has helped him in creating over 50 fragrances for different applications. He spearheads the development of novel delivery systems for home fragrance. He has also evolved the concept of “brand signature fragrances” which endeavours to add a new dimension in the sensory perception in the hospitality and institutional services domain.
In his capacity as director of NESSO (Natural and Essential Oils) , he has been instrumental in forging an alliance with Kannan Devan Hill plantations (KDHPL) for a floral and Nutraceuticals project. He has represented the company at the World Perfumery Congress (WPC), at Cannes, France.
He is a member of FAFAI (Fragrances and Flavours Association of India, BSP (British Society of Perfumers), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)
Kiran’s hobbies include Adventure Sports and motor sport in which he has won many accolades. A keen wildlife enthusiast, Kiran has also participated in a Tiger Census Program at the Nagarhole national park.

Thanks to his vision, today, Vertebrand is arguably India's only end-to-end outsourced Brand Strategy and execution firm.
As the head of Vertebrand, Raghu has worked closely with the CEOs of multi-crore organisations in evolving and managing a rigorously scientific process to grow the brand equity of the businesses they run, increase their profitability and enhance their financial brand asset value.
His specialities and skills include: Brand re-engineering, Brand Culture definition, dissemination and training, Consumer Research and insight development, forecasting future business trends and brand valuation.

Nalin Raj Khanna

Holder of a Diploma in Management from Queen’s College of the City, University of New York, Nalin is a seasoned International marketer and an accomplished manager, having held Board level positions at large business houses.
At Murugappa Group, he was the CEO and Executive Board Member of Parry Agro, with an independent P&L responsibility. Here, Nalin was instrumental for a complete turnaround of the plantation business.
He also worked at EID Parry Sugar, where he led the Sales & Marketing of the Sugar business, turning it from a commodity into a branded offering – “Parry Pure”. This effort has been widely lauded and is used as a case study in various Premier Management Institutions and Brand publications.
Nalin is widely travelled and has worked in developed and developing economies. His experience spans Sales & Distribution, Marketing, Business Development and Supply Chain management for various companies across different industry sectors like, ITC Agro Tech, Dabur Foods and ACI (Bangladesh) etc.
Nalin has been responsible for developing new business models and strategies for stressed businesses and then implementing those strategies. He has successfully reversed business losses and accelerated growth on all projects which were under his stewardship.
At Vertebrand, Nalin is responsible for the operations of the overall group, apart from direct oversight of the Managed Services practice.

C.S. Suryanarayan

Sury is one of the most experienced people at Vertebrand with a B Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
He began his career with Hindustan Lever before moving on to Pepsi and Levi-Strauss India. At Levi-Strauss, Sury was responsible for their apparel and non-apparel business in India and South Asia. His role focused on developing a strategic vision and laying the foundations for the portfolio of brands including Levi's and Dockers in the premium segments. This involved creating a strong consumer franchise and market presence for these brands while managing the P&L and Balance sheet.
In 2009 he moved to Singapore and was responsible for strategy, business process and planning for Asia Pacific region. In 2012 he took over e-commerce, Distributors and Non Apparel where he was responsible for establishing Levi Strauss’ e-commerce capability, as well as their business performance in the markets of Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and other distributor markets.
From 2015 to 2017, Sury was the Managing Director of SolveSmart International, Singapore. This consultancy provided Smart Solutions for retail and lifestyle International companies that would help them to establish a strong market presence and rapidly expand operations in Emerging markets of Asia, India, the Middle east and Africa. As a consultant, Sury enabled market entry into new markets and geographies and helped develop appropriate strategies and business models. He also helped set up business processes for successful operations and forge strategic partnerships in the value chain.
He has also helped young, growing enterprises to scale up as well as supported established organisations to significantly improve business and financial performance and win in the market. In short, with his deep experience and understanding of emerging markets Sury enabled companies to establish a strong presence and grow profitably.
He has a demonstrated history of working in the management consulting industry in India and Singapore.

Anustup is an Electronics Engineer from IIT, Madras which he followed up with a Management diploma from IIM, Calcutta. He is a vital element of the Vertebrand system. He has a huge area of influence including analysing and forecasting Marketing ROI, Marketing Information Systems, Product and Pricing Management, CRM, Market Development, Project Management and Marketing Communication.
Anustup’s expertise lies in the areas of Brand Valuation, Strategic Planning and Market Research. To accomplish this, his considerable expertise lies in gathering and analysing data; monitoring customer bases and identifying new ones; preparing detailed reports on consumer behaviour, competitors' activities, outcomes, and sales; designing market surveys; and determining future trends of consumer behaviour.
Something of a polymath, Anustup has an interest and sometimes in-depth knowledge in numerous areas including literature, music, movies, politics, marketing, market research, theatre, statistics, computer science, math, social sciences, business administration, communication . . . the list is endless
Anustup is Vertebrand’s longest serving employee, having joined Raghu in Vertebrand’s infancy after having handled quantitative research and Corporate Planning functions in both Titan and GlaxoSmithKline Pharma. An accomplished quizzer and quiz master, Anustup has won several prestigious awards in national and international quiz competitions. His other interests include theatre and solving complex maths puzzles.

Pandrang holds an MA in English Literature from Bombay University. He has over 30 years’ experience in advertising, marketing, brand strategy and academics. He has held senior positions in Ogilvy & Mather, Hindustan Thompson, McCann Erickson. He left advertising as Vice-President and Executive Creative Director.
He has handled assignments in brand thinking, business strategy and advertising for clients including Coca-Cola, UB, McDowell, Hindustan Unilever, Levi’s, TVS, Reckitt Benckiser, Proctor & Gamble, Wipro-Acer and Ashok Leyland among others. He had worked on various national brands including Whisper, Clearasil, Vadilal, Safari, McDowell No 1, Kingfisher, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Voltas and Mico.
He has taught at various institutes including Symbiosis, IIM-B, Mt. Carmel and the Xavier’s Institute of Communications. For the last 6 years he has been a faculty member at Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology.

Sowmya Raghu Raman

Sowmya is a gold medallist in Civil Engineering from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. She holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering from West Virginia University, USA and a PG Diploma in Human Resource Management from Symbiosis, Pune, India. With a Strategic HRM certification from TMTC Pune, she is certified in Transactional Analysis and the MBTI psychometric instrument. Sowmya is also a qualified assessor for the Tata Business Excellence Model.
With close to two decades of industry experience, Sowmya successfully combines her project engineering and management expertise with HR competence, to arrive at comprehensive people-centric solutions that meet business and brand objectives. Her experience in Corporate Communications and Corporate Sustainability add further value to her consulting solutions. Sowmya specialises in engineering customised systems that lend clarity to roles and enhance performance.
At Vertebrand Sowmya is the key resource for conceptualizing and managing organizational structuring programs, performance management , change management and productivity enhancement systems. Her special expertise in aligning HR Systems to business and brand objectives. She has experience and skill in strengthening the corporate communication and sustainability platforms.

Raj is a Chartered Accountant. He also hold an MBA from IIM, Bangalore and is a Company Secretary. He is a highly experienced professional with well over 3 decades of diverse experience in India, Indonesia, Singapore and the USA.
He has held senior positions with financial, operational and general management responsibilities at BU, APAC and Global levels at Levi Strauss. He spent 16 years in Cisco and 12 years in Indonesia largely in textiles and apparel manufacture, retail and distribution of international brands.
Lately he has worked with several start-ups and SMEs, including venture capital investees, in India. He has been in the forefront of several turnarounds and transformations in his career.

He has experience in procurement, manufacturing, vendor development, third party manufacturing, costing, identification of new products and strategy in developing supply chain for these products. Market analysis of competition and mitigating the risks among other areas. He understands the Indian distribution system and is well connected with various distributors, C&Fs, super stockists, institutional buyers, major supermarkets and departmental stores across the country. Prasad has received various awards and has been repeatedly acknowledged for exceeding performance benchmarks.
Prasad is known as a leader more than a manager and a good team player with the ability to work in any conditions and get the best output from the team.

Shubha is a rank holder in Statistics, Economics & Mathematics from Bombay University and a Gold Medallist in her Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore specialising in Organisational Behaviour & Personnel Management.
Shubha has over 35 years of professional experience in India and abroad. As Associate Director with Nielsen, Nigeria, she handled Customised Research for FMCG clients and was also Brand Health Domain Practice Area Leader for Sub Saharan Africa. She also had additional responsibility for Training & Development for Nielsen Nigeria. Earlier, she worked with TNS RMS, also in Nigeria. Her clients include leading multinationals like P&G, Unilever, Reckitt Benckiser, Olam to name a few.
Prior to moving to Africa, Shubha handled Human Resources function for various start-ups in India including Levi Strauss India. Prior to that she was responsible for setting up and managing the HR function for BPL Mobile Communications Ltd
At Vertebrand, Shubha is an Associate Partner at V-Encompass where she works on Cultural Alignment and Cultural Transformation assignments for clients across sectors like Education, Real Estate, Wealth Management and Pharmaceutical.

Ashutosh is a Marketing and Sales professional with experience of over 25 years across Business Consulting, Mentoring, Telecom, FMCG, and Marketing Services industry. His expertise lies in developing Go-to-market Strategies, Marketing Planning, handling Marketing Communications, and executing Market Research projects.
He has worked with leading companies including, Airtel, Reliance, Globacom, Amway, and IMRB/ Millward Brown. He brings the international experience of working in the African continent.
He is a Mechanical Engineer from Jamia Millia, a Master of Business Economics from Delhi University, and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIMK)

Our Office

Vertebrand is located in Bangalore, where you’ll find up-and-coming tech companies rubbing shoulders with advertising agencies and artists’ studios.
